Summary:

The need for power generation in India increases day by day due to various factors. Nearly 70% of the power production is from the thermal power plants in various locations of the country. Monitoring and control of boilers of these power plants at all times is a must, since these power plants are operated continuously. Internet of Things (IoT) as the platform of Communication is used. The proposed method provides an option for monitoring and control even in remote location in addition to the control room. Internet of Things (IoT) will play a major role in the future concept of power plant integration.

Solution:

For monitoring the boiler of the remote areas we introduced a MIOT Product Solution. MIOT is a cloud based Industrial IoT enabled product for remote monitoring, control and analysis of industrial equipment’s. It consists of Industrial IoT gateway and Cloud based Software application.​It can be connected with any industrial controller supported with standard industrial protocols or extended with industrial remote I/O modules.​Product having high end software features for geographically located multiple plants/devices remote monitoring & control, devices, connections & users management, Alarms, trends & notifications, data storage & security features and many more.

The boiler data is connected to the PLC/DCS where the PLC is Directly connected to IOT Gateway. Now the Data is fed to the Cloud through internet and the data in the cloud can be accessed from anywhere. The Modbus TCP/IP communication is used between the IOT gateway and master PLC. Remote I/O Modules are also used to get the required data from Power Plant.
