In RO Plants, the level of water in the tanks has to be maintained. The tanks may be far away from the control room, so it is not possible to get to know the exact water level in a tank and also due to human errors the water from the tanks may overflow. To avoid this situation Automated Water Monitoring System is developed to know the exact level of the water in the tanks and we will get to know when the motors has to be turned ON/OFF.
In this solution we have used a PLC, Ultrasonic Level Sensor, and Star Delta Panel for ON/OFF of the motors. In this solution the water in the tank should always be maintained at some level. In the level sensor we set values as Low, Medium, High.
Ultrasonic sensors are reliable, cost-effective instruments for these applications. In operation, the sensor is mounted over the tank. To determine the distance to the water. If the water level is below the set point (i.e., High Point), a 4-20mA signal will be sent to the PLC to switch ON the respective motor to maintain the Level in the Tank.
While Discharging also the water in the tank will be kept at certain level (i.e., Low Level). If the water in the tank is at that point then the respective motor will be switched OFF.
So, with the Automation process we can implement the both the process i.e., Maintaining & Discharging.
