Summary:

Fluidized Bed Coater (FBC) is well known and widely used equipment in granulation area of pharmaceutical manufacturing. It is used in the process for drying the material to get desired moisture content in the tablet formulation granules required for perfect compression of tablets

Solution:

The main principle involved in Fluid Bed Coater/Dryer is “Fluidization”. It requires more manpower if it is operated manually so if we want more production and less manpower then better to go for automation by linking the whole mechanism with PLC and HMI. The main AIM is to control the entire machine through programming in PLC and communicating it with HMI so as to change the set values of temperature, speed etc., in the field itself. Linking all the inputs as well as outputs to the PLC programming and implementing the Programming logic according the customer requirement.

The panel wiring should be done perfectly to run the machine once if the mechanical parts are well connected. Initially have to understand the process of the machine for implementing the better logic for better control. The Fluid Bed Drier is Maintained at constant rate of drying so as to write programming logic for temperature sensors, steam valves, Blower speed, solenoid valves etc., whatever the parameters have to set when the machine is in Run mode. Once the programming is completed the operator can set the values in HMI itself in the field and it will communicate with PLC so that the machine will be in under control of operator and also can work for a longer time without failure. Implementation of PLC reduces manpower and increases the productivity of the machine.
